Edwardian Floor Cleaning, Richmond, Surrey

This Edwardian stone floor in Richmond, Surrey had not been deep cleaned for a number of years. There was a layer of old sealers that were visible by way of a yellowing to the tile. These sealers needed to be stripped off before cleaning could take place and leave the Edwardian floor in a state ready to receive a new seal.

Firstly, we applied a solvent based stripper to the floor and steamed the chemical into the tile to help break up the old sealers. The tiles were cleaned with a high alkaline chemical and the residue pressure rinsed away.

After leaving the Edwardian floor for 24 hours to dry, we then applied 7 coats of Polyurethane high sheen topical sealer. This not only gives the floor a high level of protection, it also enhances the contrast of the tiles, as you can see from the picture.
