This slate floor in Shepperton, Middlesex was in need of a deep clean and re-seal. The old sealer had broken down over the years and allowed dirt to get trapped in the pores and recesses of the tiles.

Using a solvent based stripping and cleaning chemical, we proceeded to machine scrub the slate floor. This broke down the old seal and released the trapped dirt from the pores of the stone. Following this, we used a high pressure rinsing machine to flush and vacuum away the residue.

After 24 hours of drying, the stone was then ready to accept a new seal. We applied 6 coats of a Polyurethane topical high sheen sealer. This enhanced the natural colours of the slate floor while giving a very durable protective coating, making daily maintenance easier.
